As warm autumn sunlight gently blankets the vibrant rooftops on the final weekend of October, Busan’s most charming hillside neighborhood transforms into an enchanting festival stage. From October 31 to November 1, the 16th Gamcheon Culture Village Alley Festival will welcome visitors to Saha-gu, Busan, under the theme “Stories Within the K-Alley.”

Strolling through the terraced alleyways, the savory aroma of delicious K-food—lovingly homemade by Gamcheon 2-dong residents—will stop you in your tracks. When lively lion mask dancers and traditional street performers weave through the narrow passages, dancing together with visitors, the entire village turns into one giant outdoor playground.

In cozy village courtyards, nostalgic folk games like ttakji (paper-tile flipping) and jegichagi (Korean shuttlecock kicking) spark delightful laughter. At the same time, acoustic busking melodies echoing through the streets wrap international travelers in the heartwarming warmth unique to Korean neighborhood life.

Embark on a fun stamp tour through the maze-like lanes, or dive into hands-on art and cultural workshops hosted by resident artists and Busan Tourism Dure—the perfect way to craft cherished autumn memories with family and loved ones. The festival glows with even greater vibrancy thanks to the youthful energy of students from Daedong High School and Busan Health University, alongside heartfelt performances by local neighbors.

Experience the true essence of Korean “Jeong” (heartfelt warmth and connection) set against a picturesque canvas of pastel-hued houses. This weekend, set off on a magical journey into the whimsical alleys of Gamcheon Culture Village!
