The 2026 World Island Fair Yeosu Korea is an international event designed to rediscover the infinite potential and value of islands and to build global consensus around their importance. It will create a platform for exchange and solidarity within the international community to discuss the future and sustainability of islands and explore new directions for island development.

The 2026 WORLD ISLAND FAIR YEOSU KOREA is the world’s first international event dedicated to the theme of islands. It will serve as a platform to share the value and potential of islands with the world in the face of the climate crisis, while exploring new paths toward humanity’s future.

Held in Yeosu, a scenic maritime city on South Korea’s southern coast, the Fair aims to showcase the diverse cultures of islands, rediscover their true value, and jointly address the challenges they face.

A Global Platform for Cooperation

It will serve as a global platform for cooperation where cities, businesses, citizens, and future generations come together to discuss and implement sustainable island development. 

We cordially invite you to this global celebration, taking place across the beautiful islands of Yeosu, Jeonnam-Gwangju Special Metropolitan City, from 5 September to 4 November 2026.

  • Theme Island (Theme Pavilion)
    As the landmark pavilion of the exhibition, it conveys the birth, future, recovery, and coexistence of islands through an exterior LED media facade and a grand “Tree of Life” media show.
  • Marine Ecology Island
    Showcasing next-generation, eco-friendly mobility technologies connecting islands and oceans through physical displays of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and hydrogen-powered vessels, alongside immersive virtual ride experiences.
  • Future Island
    Showcasing next-generation, eco-friendly mobility technologies connecting islands and oceans through physical displays of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and hydrogen-powered vessels, alongside immersive virtual ride experiences.
  • Cultural Island
    Featuring storytelling routes and photo zones that highlight island folklore from Korea and around the world, the historical heritage of coastal communities, and island-themed pop culture content in cinema and games.
  • Treasure Island
    An interactive multimedia and island ecological edutainment space tailored for children and family visitors.
  • International Exchange Island
    A business and information-sharing pavilion where more than 30 local governments from abroad and international organizations, including the WHO and FAO, exchange island policies, climate adaptation technologies, and cultural cooperation initiatives.
  • Restaurant & Market Islands (Zones A & B)
    A multi-purpose culinary and shopping marketplace with around 1,300 seats, where visitors can taste and purchase authentic cuisine, local delicacies, and regional specialties from island communities representing more than 20 countries worldwide.
