Years to Visit Mongolia 2024–2028

The Mongolian government is actively strengthening its national tourism brand and expanding global cooperation in the tourism sector through the “Years to Visit Mongolia 2024–2028” campaign.

On December 24, 2025, the government presented an integrated schedule of cultural, tourism, and sports conferences, forums, exhibitions, and events to be held in Mongolia in 2026 at a National Assembly session.

The integrated schedule was compiled from proposals submitted by Ulaanbaatar city, 21 Aimags (provincial governments), government agencies, and relevant professional associations, with a total of 140 events and activities planned.

Key Tourism Events and Government Strategy

The Mongolian government is planning a variety of international tourism events and activities for 2026, with the goal of achieving sustainable development in the tourism industry and expanding international tourist arrivals.

The major tourism and Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions (MICE) events for 2026 are strategically distributed across four quarters to ensure year-round sustainable implementation.

To achieve tourism revitalization and sustainable tourism objectives, the Mongolian government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the Mongolian Nature’s Legacy Foundation (MNLF).

“Tourism Week 2026,” one of the most significant domestic tourism events co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth and the Mongolian Tourism Organization (MTO), is scheduled to be held in March.

Last year’s event was attended by approximately 1,000 participants, and this year’s event is expected to feature keynote speakers from internationally recognized organizations including the UN Tourism, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), as well as overseas investors.

Strategic Direction of Mongolia’s Tourism Sector

In 2026, Mongolia plans to pursue diversification of the tourism industry and mitigation of seasonality through the development of winter tourism products.

A “Winter Sale” discount promotion campaign is planned in cooperation with the distribution and services sector. Additionally, the promotion of cross-border tourism is being pursued.
