This year, Kinta Riverwalk has been revitalised as an event space, hosting major cultural celebrations that attract large crowds. One of the earliest highlights was the Pesta Budaya Tahun Baru Cina 2026, held from 18th to 22nd February 2026 at Riverfront @ Old Town. The event featured a wide range of exciting activities, including a Chinese New Year bazaar, lion and dragon dances, orchestra performances, cultural shows, fire performances, and community activities suitable for all ages. The vibrant celebration created a festive and colorful atmosphere, bringing together locals and tourists to experience cultural diversity in Ipoh.
Following this success, the Riverwalk continued to gain attention through the Fiesta Raya Ipoh 2026 Riverfront @ Old Town, held from 14th to 18th March 2026. This event further strengthened the Riverwalk’s role as a cultural hub, featuring a lively Raya bazaar, performances, and the distribution of traditional food such as bubur lambuk. The event was officiated by the Menteri Besar of Perak and attracted a large number of visitors, creating a meaningful and festive Ramadan atmosphere along the riverfront.
The success of these events clearly demonstrates the strong potential of Kinta Riverwalk as a central venue for festivals and community gatherings. It shows that the area is capable of transforming into a lively and engaging space that brings people together through culture and celebration. Moving forward, Kinta Riverwalk is expected to become one of the main spots in Ipoh for hosting festivals and promoting tourism activities.
